SESAR JU
The Single European Sky (SES) is an ambitious initiative launched by the European Commission in 2004 to reform the architecture of European ATM (Air traffic management). It proposes a legislative approach to meet future capacity and safety needs at a European rather than local level.
The key objectives of SES are:
- To restructure European airspace as a function of air traffic flows
- To create additional capacity
- To increase the overall efficiency of the air traffic management system.
SESAR Joint Undertaking (JU) is the European public-private partnership that is managing the development phase of the Single European Sky ATM Research Programme that will give Europe a high-performance Air Traffic Management infrastructure which will enable the safe and environmentally friendly development of air transport.
SESAR2020 publishes calls for proposals under Horizon2020.
