Access to Risk Finance

Financial tools in the framework of Horizon 2020 to support growth of innovative companies

What is Access to Risk Finance ('InnovFin')?

  • The European work program of Access to Risk Finance (2018-2020) helps companies and other types of organizations engaged in research and innovation to gain easier access to debt and equity finance. Thus the 'InnovFin' product range consists of a suite of financial instruments and accompanying measures.

  • The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) are the entrusted entities that implement the financial instruments, on behalf of and in partnership with the European Commission.

  • Many of the debt and equity facilities are run in a demand-driven manner, and are directed at financial intermediaries from different types (such as banks, funds, other lenders and risk-capital funds). Some of the tools are straightly directed to R&I driven companies and other such entities (usually in relatively large-scale deals).
