Widening - ERA Postdoctoral Fellowships (Fostering Balanced Brain Circulation)

Attracting more R&I talents to host organisations in low R&I performing countries

What are the Brain Circulation Grants?

At the individual talent level, the goal of Brain Circulation Grants is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of postdoctoral candidates, wishing to diversify their individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility in low R&I performing countries ("Widening Countries").

What is the ERA Postdoctoral Fellowships Grant?

The ERA Postdoctoral Fellowships Grant covers 1-3 years of postdoctoral fellowships in host organisatoins located in low R&I performing countries.

The grant is similar to the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships, but with a dedicated budget to support researchers in host organisations in Widening Countries. Both grants have similar conditions.

Candidates may apply directly to the ERA Postdoctoral Fellowships Grant, which has a dedicated budget to support postdoctoral researchers in Widening Countries, or, apply to the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships grant, and in the submission documents tick the option to have their proposal referred to the ERA Postdoctoral Fellowships grant committee in case they do not pass the MSCA grant committee.

Type of Action: Training and Mobility Actions (TMA), activities geared towards the improvement of the skills, knowledge and career prospects of researchers based on mobility between countries and, if relevant, between sectors or disciplines.
